The Chillennial

photography

When I used to work in an office downtown, I would take my camera out at least a few times a week on my lunch and just wander around the city, taking photos of anything interesting. The pandemic kinda killed that, and I’ve fallen away from it. Which stinks, because I love street photography and was really starting to get confident in getting closer to people to get that great shot.

Now I feel like a noob all over again, and need to build up the introvert confidence in order to take better photos.

I was hoping New Years Eve would give me ample opportunity to document revelry and generalized shenanigans, but alas, the streets were fairly quiet at 7pm.

Write. As has fediverse support, but it’s a bit shonky. So if uh, you happen to see this, maybe reply to this message or star it or write your congressman?

If you’re curious, I (a 40-something midwestern engineer) started a nom de plume-written federated blog as part of a new year resolution, because blogs, like bowties, are cool.

Expect posts about #videogames, #writing (and the lack thereof), #coding, becoming #middleaged, the occasional deep dive into #existentialcrises, neat links, #food, #cooking, #photography, and #various #other #hashtaggable #topics. I hope to maintain at least a thrice-weekly cadence. Maybe more? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

HASHTAG.

Happy new year ya’ll.
